Job Definition: Maintains the grounds at the Tulsa County Courthouse and other County facilities by performing the following duties.
Job Grade: B
Description: Supervises and coordinates the community service workers engaged in grounds keeping. Assigns and assists workers to complete specific tasks, such as fertilizing, seeding, cultivating, lawn mowing, and raking. Directs workers engaged in general building maintenance tasks, and operation of mechanical equipment. Assists workers in the performance of special care techniques of lawn maintenance. May inspect turf and recommend height and frequency of mowing and determine the need for supplemental maintenance. Trims bushes and trees. Maintains records. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills: Skilled in operating a lawn mower, attachments, and other light landscaping equipment; in operating various types of power equipment and hand tools; in operating and pulling a trailer; and in supervising community service workers. Knowledge of common practices, methods, tools, and materials used in basic maintenance and construction work; and of the hazards and safety precautions of the work and of general maintenance. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods; to use hand and mechanical tools and equipment to use in assigned operations; and to maintain records.
Education / Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and over one year of satisfactory full-time paid employment in a landscape or groundskeeper position or a closely related job; plus 6 months supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/Certificates: Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
Salary Range: $1,833.60- $2,108.64 per month
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
