Job Definition: A person who has been issued a permit by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy to assist the pharmacist and perform non-judgmental, technical, manipulative, non-discretionary functions under the immediate and direct supervision of a pharmacist by performing the following duties.

Description: In compliance with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy policy 535:15-13-6 and 535:15-13-7 supportive tasks may include retrieve prescriptions or files as necessary; clerical tasks such as data entry, prepare labels, maintain patient profiles; secretarial tasks such as telephone use, filing and/or typing on computer; accounting tasks such as running daily production reports, posting accounts receivable, tabulates and balances cash drawer daily, prepare daily deposit accounting for all funds, count and/or pour medications; prepackage (unit dose) and properly label medications; affix the prescription label to proper container; reconstitution of medications (liquid antibiotics); assist the pharmacist in the annual inventory. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills: Skill in typing and personal computer; in maintaining records and files, in accounting; in filling, reconstitution and compounding medications; and in interpreting prescriptions. Knowledge of drug nomenclature; of Latin on prescriptions; cash control procedures; of general office procedures and methods; of bookkeeping methods; and of common generic medicine. Ability to calculate weight systems including metric, avoirdupois and apothecary; to detect clerical errors; to deal tactfully with others; to understand and follow departmental policies, procedures, regulations and services; to follow oral and written instructions; to deal well with hostile, disabled and limited individuals.
Education / Experience: Education equivalent (GED) to graduation from a standard four year high school, completion of educational and certification requirements required by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy to maintain annual certification. Over one year of satisfactory, full time paid employment in bookkeeping, or clerical work. Work in a pharmacy would be a plus.
Licenses/Certificates: Current issued Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician License
Salary Range: $2,130.60 per month
Work Schedule: 8:30a.m. - 5:00P.M. - Monday through Friday
