Message to prospective purchasers:
As Tulsa County Treasurer, one of my primary goals
is the reduction of operating expenses of the Treasurer's office and of Tulsa
County. I am committed to improving efficiency wherever possible. The property
shown on this list is property that the county has acquired by default for
failure to pay delinquent taxes. By state law, the county is required to
maintain these properties, and in prior years taxpayers have spent as much as
$50,000 per year to keep the property properly mowed and maintained. When I was
elected to office, the county owned approximately 550 such properties, but
through aggressive marketing efforts we have been able to sell most of these
properties and reduce the cost of operations to less than $1,000.00 per year.
All of the listed properties are available for sale
to the public. The publication of this information through electronic means is
part of my continuing effort to sell this property. I believe the private
sector can more efficiently manage this property, and private ownership places
the property back on the tax rolls. Further information is available by
contacting the Delinquent Tax Department at (918) 596-5080 or 596-5070. I
welcome your suggestions concerning how we may more efficiently serve you.
Sincerely,
J. Dennis Semler
Tulsa County Treasurer
