| Option 2 Disclaimer: Modifications of
mortgage may require special calculation. Because there may be prior mortgage
tax payments, increases in money, or other factors to take into consideration,
you may not be able to use the calculation methods indicated above. If you are
unsure of how to calculate mortgage tax on a modification, it is best to
contact our office for assistance.
Please call one of the numbers below for assistance: Note: If you are filing a modification of mortgage and no additional mortgage tax is due, you do not need to pay the $5.00 certification fee. The document will be stamped “No Mortgage Tax Due” and will be forwarded to the county clerk’s office for filing. To calculate the tax manually: Example 1 (No rounding necessary): A $50,000.00 mortgage for 30 years would be calculated as follows: 50,000 100 X 0.10 = $50.00 in mortgage tax due. Example 2 (Amount of mortgage rounded up): A $50,250.00 mortgage for less than 2 years would be calculated as follows: 50,300 100 X 0.02 = $10.06 in mortgage tax due. IN ADDITION TO MORTGAGE TAX, THERE IS A $5.00 CERTIFICATION FEE DUE TO THE TREASURER. PLEASE INCLUDE THE $5.00 CERTIFICATION FEE WHEN PAYMENT IS REMITTED. * Mortgage tax rates for Oklahoma
NOTE: If you have a mortgage that is not an even dollar
amount, you will have to round the mortgage up to the nearest 100 to calculate
the mortgage tax. Example: If you have a mortgage for $50,250.00, you will need
to round it up to $50,300.00 to use the manual method.
REMEMBER TO INCLUDE THE $5.00 CERTIFICATION FEE IN YOUR PAYMENT | ||||||||||||||
