Our mission “To improve the quality of life within the community, Tulsa County Parks promotes health & wellness, by providing opportunities in both natural and developed environments, where citizens and guests can enjoy recreation and leisure activities.”

 

Tulsa County has the only County-operated park system in the State of Oklahoma. Tulsa County Parks Department exists by permissive state legislation, allowing the Board of County Commissioners to operate a park system. Additionally, our 7-member advisory Park Board meets quarterly and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

 

Tulsa County Parks Department Facilities consists of:

  • Four (4) large area parks of 100 + acres with 10 smaller park sites ranging from one (1) acre to 47 acres
  • 4 Recreation Centers
  • 23 lighted baseball/softball fields
  • 22 lighted tennis courts
  • 18 soccer field (4 of which are lighted), including West bank Soccer Complex (582-6001)
  • 4 outdoor swimming pools and operates 1 indoor swimming pool
  • 4 jogging/walking trails
  • 2 public golf courses (book a tee time online at www.playtulsa.com) and a golf training center
  • Covered picnic shelters in all parks are centrally reserved through the Parks Office (596-5990)

    The Bixby Community Center has plenty of fun activities and classes available for a variety of ages and is well worth visiting. A large open space, meeting rooms and kitchen (all available for reservation) are just some of the notable amenities this facility has to offer.

    This park has great natural beauty and panoramic views of Tulsa and Sand Springs. Chandler offers an outdoor pool (summer season only 591-6053), lighted baseball/softball fields (591-6052), nature trail with rock formations, covered shelters may be reserved (596-5990), large play structures, a festival site for fantastic outdoor special events ( 596-5977).

    This modern Center, built with Vision 2025 funding, features a full size gymnasium, game room, aerobics/dance room, cardio/weight room, 3 meeting rooms, computer lab, multipurpose room and an arts/crafts room. The outdoor swimming pool which is open only during the Summer Season showcases zero- entry construction and slide/ diving area. Rooms & Swimming Pool may be reserved.

    Tulsa County Parks Department manages league play on lighted softball fields (366-4841). Covered shelters may be reserved (596-5990). Haikey Creek Park with its large play structure, disc golf course, jogging/walking trail, tennis courts, soccer fields and large open spaces for special events (596-5977) is popular with the South Tulsa, Bixby and Broken Arrow crowds.

    LaFortune Park is a green haven in mid-town Tulsa. The combined LaFortune Community Center/Kaiser Library (off Hudson) is a marvelous Vision 2025 state-of-the-art facility. Other amenities include: Lighted ball fields (596-8632) outdoor swimming pool (summer only), shelters are reserved through Parks Office (596-5990), walking/jogging trail, award winning play structures, outdoor events occur in the Gardens of LaFortune.

  • LaFortune Park proudly houses an 18 hole, Par 72 Championship golf course and the first fully lighted
    18 hole Par 3 golf course in the state, quality pro shops, driving range and practice greens. (496-6200).
  • Full service Clubhouse Grill has tasty food (they can also cater events) (496-6210).
  • Lighted tennis courts (fee to use), lessons available by knowledgeable instructors ( 496-6230 ).

    The O’Brien Park Staff proudly provides a variety of recreation programs for all ages in the year round Recreation Center. The Park has covered shelters that may be reserved (596-5990). Swimming Pool (outdoor, summer season), tables, grills, green spaces, tennis courts, ball fields and walking/jogging trail. The Vision 2025 funded O’Brien Golf Training Center is “our piece of Heaven” with its three hole layout. Great instruction too. (591-6047)

    South Lakes is a picturesque 18-Hole Championship course and one of the best kept secrets of Tulsa County. This facility has excellent meal accommodations with tournament catering, quality pro shop, driving range & practice greens. South Lakes & LaFortune golf courses are open year-round except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. On these holidays golf is free - weather permitting.
